Our project originates from these very reflections.

It takes the fishing net—identified as an emblematic element of the trade—reinterprets it, and transforms it into a landmark that is immediately recognizable as belonging to the world of the marinerie. This new form acquires a landscape value, marking specific places along the coastline as places of fishing, and thus contributing to a unified and coordinated image of these coastal communities.

The net becomes a great trait d’union—a visual and symbolic thread—transitioning from a functional object to a sign of identity. Suspended and held in tension by a dense array of vertical elements, it seems to float in the air, as if left to dry after a night at sea. Anchored by gravity, it curls in some spots or lightly brushes the ground in others, establishing each time a different, intimate connection with the people passing through.
